The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has set Tuesday, October 20, 2026, as the date to open nominations for the upcoming election of new national executives.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, August 5, the party said its Functional Executive Committee (FEC) approved the timetable for the internal elections at a meeting held on August 4, marking the start of the process to elect new party executives at the constituency, regional and national levels.
According to the schedule, nominations for national executive positions will open at 7:00 a.m. on October 20 and close at 5:00 p.m. on October 21. Interested aspirants must submit their applications online through the party's designated portal before completing their nomination forms.
National executive aspirants will have 14 days to complete their nomination forms, after which filing of nominations will take place from November 7 to 9 at the NDC national office and through the party's online platform.
The party has scheduled the vetting of national executive aspirants for November 12 and 13 at its national headquarters before the election process proceeds.
Also, nominations for constituency executive positions is set to open on September 15, 2026.
Constituency executive nominations will open at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, and close at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17. Aspirants are required to apply online through the party's portal before completing and filing their nomination forms.
The filing of nominations will take place from September 23 to 24, while the vetting of aspirants is scheduled for September 25 to 27. Appeals will be heard between September 29 and October 1.
The party has scheduled constituency executive elections for October 24 and 25, to be held at designated venues across the country.
The statement said the timetable reflects its commitment to conducting transparent, credible and well-organised internal elections and urged all executives, aspirants and members to strictly comply with the prescribed timelines and procedures as the party prepares for the 2028 general elections.
