Acreaty Ghana launches services to bridge unemployment gap

Acreaty Ghana, a Management Consulting and Human Resource firm, has launched Acreaty Domestic Services, a wing of the Acreaty Group, to consolidate their efforts to bridge the unemployment gap in the country.

The introduction of the Acreaty Domestic Services was aimed at training and grooming skilful people such as chefs, cooks, drivers, domestic maids, cleaners, waiters, nannies, carpenters, painters, masons and gardeners, among others, to be deployed to companies and homes for gainful employment.

It was also meant to help working parents focus more on their jobs while the trained and groomed artisans take care of the domestic needs of their homes.

At the launch last Thursday at East Legon, in Accra, the Managing Director of the firm, Elsie Appau-Klu, noted that her outfit was focused on providing jobs to the large population of young Ghanaians who were frustrated and giving themselves to drugs and other social vices.

“We think that employment should not just be about going to school and coming out to work.

There are people who cannot go to school or attain the highest level of education so we can capture these people, train them and place them to perform some skills,” she said.

She continued: “So at Acreaty, we think that aside from getting people to the formal space of work, which is competitive, and we are glad that we are providing that service to our clients in the employment space, we can also focus on out-of-school youth and other young persons, train them to provide technical and practical skills for small skill enterprises.

Frustration of employers

Mrs Appea-Klu bemoaned the frustration that most executive homes endure in dealing with some domestic workers, especially those who lack appropriate training and professionalism in their field of work promising her company’s commitment to ensuring that efficiency is achieved for their clients.

“People are frustrated because when they hire domestic workers or craftsmen, they don’t deliver the expected skills that are required of them.

Some don’t attach details and professionalism to the things they do so we are into this space to train people to place them so that work is done effectively and efficiently,” she noted.

Already in operation

She also mentioned that Acreaty Domestic Services had already begun operations where they had trained a pool of employees with the right skills who were ready to be deployed and urged unemployed persons, especially the youth, to sign up to be trained for onward deployment.

“Interestingly, we already have access to hundreds and thousands of trained people in our network who are ready for work so we welcome people from homes, as well as the private and public sectors who want to have qualified, well-skilled, well-mannered and well-nurtured employees within the informal working space,” she said.

“We are already in the space and we are looking at giving jobs to hundreds of thousands of Ghanaians within the space so if you are a construction company, restaurant, hotel, hospital, school and home looking for artisans to work with, the best place to go is Acreaty Domestics because we have a pool of them and we ensure professionalism by making sure that your work is done effectively,” she added.
