He said the lack of timely communication had been one of the serious banes of the association, and, therefore, pledged to set up an e-newsletter that would be circulated to all members to update them monthly on the activities of the association.

Mr Nettey gave this assurance when he delivered his acceptance speech after the association voted to elect its new executive last week in Accra.

The other executive members include Mrs Mansah Anowa, Vice-President, and Mr Martin Osei, Treasurer.

Mr Nettey said the new executive would also task the operations manager at the secretariat to ensure that the e-newsletter was signed  by the executive director and himself at the end of every month and circulated by the 5th of the following month.

He also called on the members to share their thoughts and ideas with the executive, since they could not have answers to everything.

“It’s our industry, so let’s all close ranks and join forces and contribute to its growth,” he said.

The outgoing President of the association, Mrs Norkor Duah, also congratulated the new executive, and urged them to work hard to move the association forward.

She said plans were far advanced to organise the associatiion’s creative exposé, the Gong-Gong awards.

Mrs Duah disclosed that the awards ceremony was scheduled for September, and appealed to all creative resources across the industry to come together to make it a success.

“This is our industry and this is our livelihood; it can only get better if you and I come on board and move it forward,” she added.
