The Africa Prosperity Network has announced that the Africa Prosperity Dialogues 2027 will now take place from January 13 to 15, 2027, at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra, replacing the previously announced dates of January 27 to 29.
According to a press release issued on Friday, October 16, 2026, the revised dates align the Dialogues with the African Union's continental calendar. The AU Summit is scheduled for January 30 to 31, 2027, in Addis Ababa, preceded by Executive Council meetings on January 27 and 28. The earlier calendar accommodates Ramadan, which is expected to begin on the evening of February 7, with the first day of fasting on February 8, 2027, subject to the sighting of the moon.

Convened by the Africa Prosperity Network under the patronage of President John Dramani Mahama, the Dialogues will bring together African political and business leaders to advance practical commitments on free movement and seamless cross-border payments, two priorities with the potential to deliver swift gains in intra-African trade and accelerate the African Union's integration agenda.
The Dialogues traditionally take place approximately two weeks before the AU Summit, allowing its principal outcome document, the APD Action Compact, to be presented to Africa's leaders in Addis Ababa. The Compact conveys the priorities, commitments and recommendations emerging from the annual Dialogues, reflecting the position of Africa's private sector on advancing the continent's single market agenda.
The revised timing preserves this established link between private sector dialogue and continental decision-making. It also avoids overlapping commitments for Heads of State, ministers, institutional leaders and other participants.
The 2027 Dialogues will take place at a particularly significant moment, as Ghana prepares to mark its 70th independence anniversary on March 6, 2027, and President Mahama is expected to be confirmed as Chairperson of the African Union at the forthcoming AU Summit.
According to the Deputy Chief of Staff at the Office of the President, Mr Stanislav Xoese Dogbe, the President "views APD 2027 as a foundational pillar in a landmark year for Ghana and the continent." The Presidency also envisages "the Dialogues as a high-level curtain raiser to these milestones, providing early intellectual and policy momentum ahead of the AU Summit."
The 2027 edition will convene under the theme: "The Africa We Want Is Borderless. Move Freely. Pay Seamlessly. Trade More." Discussions will focus on practical steps to advance the free movement of Africans, seamless cross-border payments and increased intra-African trade.
The Africa Prosperity Network apologised for any inconvenience caused by the change, particularly to partners, sponsors and delegates who have already begun making travel and other arrangements. It encouraged participants to update their calendars and participation plans, adding that its Secretariat would provide assistance with enquiries arising from the adjustment.
