Culture Forum holds maiden conference

The event is to bring together all groups in the cultural fraternity to dialogue on the way forward for the creative industry in this country on the theme ‘Projecting our National Culture: The Quest for Creativity, Excellence and Relevance.’

The GCF is a membership-based civil society consultative and advocacy network of cultural practitioners, activists and organisations. Its work centers on affirming the cultural foundations of development and enhancing the profile, value and impact of the cultural sector in this country.

A statement from the GCF secretariat said the plenary session will discuss the challenges that confront us as we grapple with the complex issues of advancing our national culture.

Over 500 delegates from across the country are expected to attend the conference at which Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Minister of Tourism, Culture & Creative Arts, will deliver an address as the special guest of honour.

Professor Kofi Agyekum, Director of the School of Performing Arts, University of Ghana, Legon will also speak at the 9.00am programme which will be chaired by Mr Kenneth Ashigbey, Managing Director of the Graphic Communications Group Limited.
