The usually quiet town of Sefwi Dwinase in the Western Region was turned into a jam park when during the celebration of Founder’s Day recently, Joey B and Pappy Kojo staged a surprise concert for the natives of the town.

The concert, put together by Clique Events in collaboration with Liberty FM in Dwinase and dubbed, “Founders Day Concert" was to celebrate the good works of Ghana’s first president, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah.

Taking turns to entertain the crowd, Joey and Pappy Kojo, who performed for close to an hour thrilled the patrons to a variety of songs from their repertoire including Otoolege, Wow, Ice Cream, Tonga and Ay3 Late. An obviously elated crowd couldn't help but dance and sing along to the performances.

In an interview with Showbiz after the event, the head of the organising team, Dennis Oppong, said the motive behind the concert was to bring the musicians to their fans based outside Accra.

“It is rare to have artistes come down to this part of the country to stage concerts and interact with their fans. Clique Events want to close that gap and that is what we hope to replicate in subsequent years,” he stated.

“People come to sell tickets to us and take our money but we never get to see the artistes so we didn't believe this event would come off. We are       grateful to the organisers for bringing two of our favourite artistes to stage a concert for us", an excited patron told Showbiz.

Pappy Kojo and Joey B, who were referred to by the people as the "perfect duo" were amazed by the reception given them by the people of Dwinase and promised a comeback to the people with another concert soon.

Other artistes who performed at the event included gospel singer, Naomi Adjei, Osabarima and a host of other upcoming artistes.

The event was sponsored by Macbells Company limited.
