Spooky enters in style
The Ghanaian music industry is growing at a fast pace with each genre producing great talents Gabriel Ohene Kwasi Addai is one of such talents. Spooky, as he is known in showbiz circles is popularly known for his song titled no size.
Though the music scene is quite competitive, the second year student of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) is hopeful of rubbing shoulders with some of the “big guns” soon.
Already, he is promoting his new mix tape titled, The Intro. At the age of 14, Spooky knew he had an interest in music and would love to pursue it as a career in future. He used his active services in the church choir to learn some basics in music.
Few years after, the Takoradi-based artiste who is signed to Well Motivated Records says he has arrived to bless the world with his talent. After testing the waters as an underground artiste for some time, he released his No Size song which got him some recognition in the Western region.
“No Size was inspired by my father who told me to show appreciation to God irrespective of my condition in life. I wanted to share the experience with people so I composed the song and I’m happy about the feedback,” the 20 year old told Showbiz on Thursday.
As a young artiste, Spooky has had the privilege to perform on stages including Love at the Mall at the West Hills Mall and Accra Soup at GIJ.
But how does he juggle his studies and music career? “It’s a tough one. Most of my lectures coincide with my studio sessions so I need to prioritise. It takes a toll on me but because I know where I am heading with my music career, I’m not disappointed,” he stated.
Spooky said the journey hasn’t been easy but he is confident to make a breakthrough with hard work.
“I’m working on the release of my maiden album and hopefully, it will be out by the end of the year,” he stated.
