Basat’s Here To Stay
Although the hiplife industry is largely male dominated, some female artistes are doing their upmost to break into the industry.

One such artiste is Basat who hails from Tamale in the Northern Region. She is determined to stake her claim on the industry with the release of her latest single, Here To Stay, which features Fizz.
On the song, which has the distinct hiplife beat and rhythm, Basat sings about how she is determined to stay with her love interest no matter the challenges that may come their way.
She sings that although love fades with time, her love would never go away. She adds that she would love him regardless of any circumstance.
At various intervals in the song, Basat switches languages to sing and rap in her native Dagbani language.
For his part, Fizz raps to confirm the message of Basat. He raps that even though there are times when he considers leaving her, he is always compelled to come back.
He adds that he would always provide shoulder for her to lean on and he will be there in times of need.
Basat’s melodious smooth voice and style of delivering her lyrics on the beat, produced by Stone B, definitely adds to the feel of the song and makes it worth listening to.

Basat, real name, Bawah Hafsat, released her maiden album, Daadan B3 in 2012 and is currently signed onto HyperLinkGH Entertainment record label.
In an interview with Basat, she admitted that although some of the current female artistes in the industry were very talented; she believes she is a much better artiste. She told Showbiz she was poised to sweep them all aside shortly.
She added that she has plans to raise her public profile by embarking on a tour of some selected towns across the country which include Tamale, Yendi, Wa, Bolga, Accra, Wale Wale, Bawku, Ashiaman among others.
