Don't let financial burden kill your bedroom pleasure - Rev. Minister tells couples

A Reverend Minister with the Authority Bible Church, Dr Nanayaa Owusu-Prempeh   has urged couples to prioritise their intimate life, advising them not to let financial burdens interfere with their moments of intimacy.

She held that  fostering a healthy intimate relationship between couples required clear mental state adding that while financial issues were inevitable, they should not be allowed to overshadow the joy and connection that comes from intimate moments.

The reverend minister made this assertion during an open discussion on TV3's program "Confession," highlighting the impact that stress from finances can have on the quality of a couple's lovemaking experience.

"Lovemaking activities involve the mind. If a man carries his financial burdens into the bedroom during intimate moments with their partner, they will not enjoy the act."

According to her, the mental strain that comes from worrying about money can cause tension, diminishing both partners' ability to connect and feel pleasure.

Addressing specifically the men, she explained that bringing financial worries into the bedroom creates a barrier to intimacy.

"To the men who have financial problems, don’t carry these financial burdens to the bedroom. You cannot have good sex. Sex is a mind game, so once you are tense, you can’t please your partner or yourself. Your mind is occupied with the food you need to provide, the rent, and bills, so your mind is not ready for pleasure," she stated.

Dr. Owusu-Prempeh encouraged couples to adopt a mindset of relaxation during intimacy, even amidst financial challenges.

She pointed out that just as scripture offers comfort to those who are troubled, couples need to mentally let go of their stress during moments of connection.

"But don’t forget that man will not live by bread alone. You need to relax your mind. It is just like when you read the Holy Bible; it says 'come to me all who are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.' You can’t sit in trotro and carry your load, you will definitely have to put it down. It’s the same when it comes to sex," she advised.
