SOME of the experiences shared on Stacy Amoateng’s television show, Restoration With Stacy, have been very personal, some too personal for comfort but Stacy has been able to handle her guests very well for close to a decade. It’s been 10 years, yet, Restoration With Stacy is still waxing strong and Stacy, who is also Executive Director of Angel Group, believes it all boils down to not being judgemental of her guests which encourages others to appear on the show.
“I do well not to judge my guests, people have challenges but I don’t judge them because we are all human and it is not right to use people’s weaknesses against them”, she said when Graphic Showbiz caught up with her recently.
Stacy, who has been a TV host for almost 25 years, was more than willing to go all out about her show, some of her very favourite guests as well as challenges with getting sponsorship for the show.
“Restoration With Stacy which shows on Sundays at 2pm on Joy Prime and also on Angel TV has been running for close to a decade. I have always said the show is a God-given, God-driven one because the whole idea came from God and it is He who has seen us through all these years, we can’t thank Him enough.
“When we started, the show became a hit by the third episode and was being talked about by everyone home and abroad. The first episode was about a Ghanaian model in the United Kingdom who had been molested and it caught on so well with viewers.
“Emelia Brobbey also came to talk about her accident and her alleged shop lifting in the United Kingdom, it was a very emotional episode if you ask me. It brought tears to my eyes and I just couldn’t hold back”, she stated.
Stacy also mentioned the renewal of vows for Majid Michel and his wife Virna as one of the highest points of the journey of Restoration With Stacy.
“I invited Majid on the show and asked him to bring his wife along. He came without her but I insisted she had to be on the show. She showed up later and that was when I told them Restoration was going to fully sponsor their renewal of vows.
“They couldn’t believe it but we stood by our words and sponsored a wedding for them at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, Accra, with their family, friends, industry people and their fans in attendance”, she said.
