In all, 160 students graduated in certificate courses out of which 154 were fashion students, while six were graphic designers.

Mr Ken Attoh, Creative Director at Sparrow Productions, was the  guest of honour at the ceremony. He called on Africa designers to collaborate with other global brands to enable them break onto the international scene with their brilliant designs.

Mr Attoh noted that fashion design could help solve the country’s graduate unemployment situation if appropriate attention was paid to it.

“Ghanaian designers are extremely good. That is why we at Sparrow Production started using our local designs in our movies long ago as a way of promoting the nation,” he said.

The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Madam Dzifa Gomashie, advised the graduates to use the skills gained from their training to attract and keep customers.

JACCD has been around for over 20 years and has been providing good quality fashion design training to students in the sub-region.
