Lil Wayne's mansion raided by police

The Miami-Dade Police raided Lil Wayne’s mansion on Tuesday.  Authorities were granted permission to seize property from Weezy’s estate after the New Orleans’ emcee failed to pay for a private jet he leased from Miami’s Signature Group. Reportedly he owes the company $2 million.

Huffington Post reports Dwayne Carter failed to pay the required $55,000 per month lease on his Gulf Stream II. Initial requests to repo possessions from the rapper were denied because the company could not prove that the rapper had $2 million in assets inside the multi-million dollar waterfront property.

Miami-Dade county judge Lisa Walsh granted permission to raid the property only after Signature Group was able to obtain pictures that proved that the property contained assets worth upwards of the amount owed.

According to the Miami New Times, a real estate agent who’d recently visited the estate was able to verify the value of the possessions.

TMZ reports that it received a copy of the court order “which allows Miami-Dade County Sheriff's deputies to break the locks of the house and doors if necessary to gain entry and confiscate seizable assets.”
