Popular Nigerian comedian, AY Makun has lost his house to a fire outbreak on Sunday, August 6. In a video that went viral on social media, the roof of the comedian’s house and some sections were on fire.

A fire service truck was also parked in front of the home while his neighbours rushed out of their homes for their own safety.

In an Instagram post yesterday, August 7, the comedian, real name, Ayodeji Makun, revealed that his family is safe and are on vacation in the US.

He expressed his gratitude to God for the safety of his family on Instagram.

“Family and God. That is what’s important. Everything else comes and goes. Can’t wait to join you guys in the US in a few days,” he wrote.

Reacting, many colleagues and fans of AY, including his younger brother and fashion designer, Yomi Casual sympathised with the comedian and his family.

Also, AY Comedian's sister-in-law, Grace Makun has shared a video of the aftermath of the comedian's house after the tragic fire incident.

In a social media post, Grace Makun expressed her gratitude to a higher power for sparing the lives of AY Makun and his family from the perilous fire.

She wrote; "Y”all be wandering why I’m appraising @lanremakunevents @yomicasual we cried and prayed together and God showed us mercy as a family 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Our heart is full of gratitude for @aycomedian @realmabelmakun we love you both 🙏 God got you both and May he fill your home with joy this season."
