With a range of collections of corporate dresses, tea dresses, formal wears, African wears, gowns among others, the CEO and founder of Paris Kay, Eugenia Nana Yaa Amponsah told Graphic Showbiz that her brand intends to define the popular question, “what is fashion?”
“As a designer, I’m certain that fashion is how people present themselves through the art of expressing their sense of beauty through clothes. Fashion is dressing in clothes that bring out the best in you as well as your excellent taste for good things.
“There has been a change from the past when clothes were a means of displaying wealth and position. Now, fashion is more of a self-expression than anything else today and Paris Kay is here to provide just that for the ordinary person,” she said.
Owning a clothing line is a long held dream that has come true for the CEO of Paris Kay. Living and growing up with her grandmother who has was a professional seamstress, Madam Amponsah developed the interest and nurtured the craftsmanship by trying her hands on some pieces as well.
Eventually, she sought professional knowledge and training from the Yorkcity Fashion Academy in Accra to further sharpen her skills. After completion, she worked with Zyellegant Fashion Brand in 2020 where she assisted with bridal and photoshoot styling.
In 2020, Madam Amponsah supported her boss at the time with clothing collections showcased at the 2020 Glitz Fashion Show.
