Richie Mensah calls for ownership of GH music catalogs
CEO of Lynx Entertainment, Richie Mensah has called for increased investment in ownership of Ghanaian music catalogs in order to protect and promote the country’s cultural heritage.

He made these comments at the launch of the ‘Live The Music’ initiative, held at Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra last Friday.
The event attracted key figures from the creative industry, highlighting the initiative’s significance.
Mr Mensah argued that the misrepresentation of Ghanaian culture often results from insufficient local involvement in telling their own stories.
He emphasized the need for stakeholders to invest in owning music catalogs to reclaim and control the narrative surrounding Ghanaian art and culture.
“We need to take control of our narratives and ensure that our artistic heritage is preserved and celebrated,” he stated.
He encouraged industry professionals to support Lynx Entertainment’s mission, pointing out that the initiative extends beyond music to include art, dance, fashion, and other critical elements of the creative sector.
The Live The Music’ launch was attended by notable personalities such as Reggie Rockstone, Kwame Farkye, KiDi and Lyrical Joe.
