Simon Cowell drops Ghana's Reggie 'N' Bollie from record label

The X Factor's Reggie 'N' Bollie have been axed from Simon Cowell's Syco record label. The Ghanaian duo were only signed to Syco a month after finishing as runners-up to Louisa Johnson in the 2015 final.

Reggie 'N' Bollie released just two singles under the label, with their second release failing to make a chart impact.

The label made the decision because the pair "struggled to turn their support into record sales," reports The Sun.

A source told the newspaper: “They have worked really hard for the last year but their relationship with Syco didn’t work out and they wanted different things.

“Their music was very poppy and chart-focused but now they want to focus on a different style."

Confirming the news, a Syco spokesperson said: "Reggie 'n' Bollie are no longer working with us. We wish the guys the best of luck for the future."

They also took to Twitter to say they're not at all fazed by getting the chop.

"We're finally independend n it feels f**king right #WeCallOurOwnShots #HappyNewMonth2Uall," they tweeted.

The reggae-loving pair - who were mentored by Cheryl on the talent show - launched themselves onto the UK pop scene with two energetic singles 'New Girl' and 'Link Up' and whilst the former reached No.26 in the charts in June, 'Link Up' was a financial flop.
