Steel Pulse, Kojo Antwi for Independence Bash

Sensational 80s Reggae band, Steel Pulse and Ghana’s Music Maestro Kojo Antwi are set to headline a concert dubbed: “Independence Bash” on Saturday, March 7.

Set to come off at the Grand Arena Dome inside the Accra International Conference Centre, the concert is to commemorate the celebration of the landmark anniversaries of Joy FM at 25 and Charterhouse at 20.

The CEO of Charterhouse, Mrs Theresa Ayoade said there's a growing need to create quality entertainment for the capital's more mature audience to unwind and network.

"This is for the grown and funky, an evening outing experience that the older crowd can feel comfortable to attend and enjoy for a change. Lately, most events have been designed for young audiences which many mature people tend to find a bit too boisterous,” she told the Daily Graphic.

“The Steel Pulse Live in Ghana Independence Bash is designed to have an 80s party vibe, with a mixed set up of both theatre seating and VIP table setting, giving it an informal yet intimate feel.

“This set up, with a cash bar in the very spacious, fully air conditioned and secure Grand Arena, offers the opportunity for those in the corporate field to get fully serviced tables and tickets for clients and employees as appreciation gifts. Again, associations, old school year groups or even old friends get to sit together at tables to have a reunion,” she continued.

Giving an insight into what to expect at the event, she said, “we want people to re-live the olden days. I have those memories, it was beautiful, we loved it and we just want to bring back that youthful feeling again and have fun.

“Apart from that, we are looking at connections or networking as well. There will be all kinds of people around so it will be an environment where people can meet and connect.”
