VIP fires up for Sallahfest

VIPAward-winning hiplife trio, Vision In Progress (VIP) are set to thrill thousands of Muslims at this year’s Sallahfest celebration slated for August.

The event is to mark the end of the month of Ramadan. Sallahfest 2013 is being hosted by VIP with support from Chapter O and powered by EXP Ghana. It also forms part of the group’s social responsibility projects.

As part of the show, the group will treat music fans to great tunes from its repertoire while ‘wowing’ them with their famous stage performances.

Other activities lined up for the celebration include horse riding, cultural display from the various tribes in the country, a 600-metre table feast, dancing competition, networking, among others.

The group would also make a donation of items to five selected orphanages in the country during the month of Ramadan.

Speaking at the launch of the event, the Chief of Nima, Alhaji Nii Futa, expressed his appreciation to the people for the peaceful co-existence of Muslims and Christians in the community and the country at large.

He was hopeful that the synergy and communal spirit that the festival had generated over the years would continue to be a good example for other Muslim communities in the country and beyond to emulate.

Alhaji Nii Futa, lauded the contributions of the sponsors and urged all involved in the organisation of the festival to give selflessly and ensure its success.

In his remark, the Head of Sponsorship and Media of EXP Ghana, Mr Elloeny Amande, said more than 10,000 people would be fed on a 600-metre feast table on the day of the festival.

This year’s event is sponsored by Vodafone Ghana, Frytol, Coca-Cola, Maggi, Indomie, and Tasty Tom. The Sallahfest celebration was started in 1998 by VIP to mark the end of Ramadan and to thank Allah for a successful year.
