When love comes to Zynnell

I had the opportunity to watch Zynnell Zuh’s  movie, When Love Comes Around, last Saturday at the Silverbird Cinemas and I must say I was impressed with the actress, who now doubles as producer, for such a good movie.

Normally, I do not sit to watch a movie that runs for more than two hours  but this time, I did  because it was worth every minute that I sat through it.

First, I was bowled over by the picture quality. Management of Silverbird Cinemas is known to be particular about the quality of movies it screens and Zynnell did just that with her new movie. The picture quality and the angles of shots conveyed the message Zynnell wanted to put across.

Now to the acting. I know what Mikki Osei Berko is capable of so I was not surprised he did so well in the movie. Anytime he appeared in the movie, he had something funny to say and his acting portrayed the rich Asante man who wants everyone to know that “money is not a problem”.

Mikki combined  Twi and English and acted so well. To me, he was the best actor in the movie even though he was not the major character.

I have seen Zynnell in a few movies and as she has always done, the young lady was on point in her first produced movie. The others actors, Edward Kufuor, Jim Iyke, DJ Pierra Makena and Eku Edewor all played their parts so well.

The story itself is a simple one. A young lady, who from the experience of being betrayed by young guys in the past, vows to date only rich and older men for financial gain.

Eventually, she meets a waiter and falls deeply in love with him. Now the lady is caught between the waiter boyfriend and  a rich Asante businessman and that starts an intriguing story of a lady caught between two men who appeal to her differently.

At the end of the movie session, Zynnell who co-wrote When Love Comes Around with David Amah had a standing ovation from movie lovers who had come to watch the movie.

Zynnell who has featured in other movies such as Adams Apple, Seduction, Vacation, Cheaters, Wannabe, Single Six, The Battle, Scam and Tears of Smile said she is almost ready with another one, Love Regardless.
