Ghana Girl Guides to embark on international trips

The Ghana Girl Guides Association is organising international trips for its members to familiarise themselves with sister Guides from various parts of the world.

The trip, which is organised every year, takes the Guides to countries such as the United Kingdom, USA, Canada, The Netherlands, the Democratic Republic of Korea, Denmark and Sweden.

Guides who take advantage of the trips would be exposed to the culture of the people in those countries and exchange ideas to enhance their education.

The International Commissioner of the Ghana Guides, Ms Cynthia Nana Yaa Labram, who disclosed this to the Junior Graphic, said the girls would go for summer camps and learn new things such as hiking, horse riding, cycling, canoeing and climbing.

She said the Guides would also get the opportunity to meet prominent personalities in the countries they would visit and embark on historic and educational tours.

Ms Labram pointed out that participants would also exhibit their Ghanaian culture to the outside world and build long lasting relationships with their sister Guides across the globe.

She said Guides between the ages of 10 and 17 were eligible to participate in the trip scheduled for July this year, and, therefore, encouraged every member to take advantage of the programme to visit various places.
