Fernando Verdasco: The daredevil

One tennis star who would do just anything to raise money for charity is Spanish player, Fernando Verdasco.

The 32-year-old was noted to have stripped naked for a photoshoot to raise awareness for male cancer in what many believed would generate some controversy between him and his girlfriend, Jarah Mariano.

Instead, his blond girl friend gave her blessing to the Spaniard’s act and he further won the heart of Andy Murray’s mum, who admitted her admiration for the player.

Fernando, who dumped Rafael Nadal out of the ongoing Australian Open, has a charismatic personality that seems to attract more female fans than the normal tennis star.

His love for the game started at the age of two and, instead of watching cartoons at his early age, he watched Andrea Agassi and McEnroe and by the age of four he had already started taking lessons in the game.

At 15, the Spanish Federation gave him scholarship to Barcelona, where he won the Spanish Under-16 championship and began winning many tournaments, until today that he has become a household name.

His girlfriend, Jarah Mariano, of Hawaiian and Korean descent, is an American model,  who often models in ladies underwear and is best known for her appearances in the 2008 and 2009 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Editions, as well as Victoria's Secret.
