Team Jnr JM inspires unity and support at University of Ghana

On Sunday June 11, 2023, a visit by team Jnr. JM, led by Jeremiah Maclean, known affectionately as Honourable Junior JM, brought an atmosphere of unity and motivation to the University of Ghana.

The team engaged with members of the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) to emphasise the importance of standing together for the challenges that lie ahead.

Accompanied by his aide, Samuel Danso, a dedicated political science student and aspiring candidate for the TEIN City Campus chapter's General Secretary position, Jnr. JM's presence was well-received.

The team held a productive meeting with Aki Ola Aziz, the immediate past communications officer for TEIN, UG, who is also aspiring to become the next Student Representative Council (SRC) president in the upcoming elections on July 16.

They also had a meaningful conversation with Vanessa Agbeode, an aspiring candidate for the SRC General Secretary portfolio, who demonstrated her commitment to the cause.

In addition to these interactions, the team engaged with four other comrades, fostering fruitful discussions about the intricacies of campus politics.

Recognising the importance of nurturing young, hardworking comrades, Jnr. JM and his team pledged their support, guidance, and assistance to ensure the success of these aspiring candidates in their respective positions.

It is their belief that empowering these individuals will enable them to champion the collective cause as they approach the crucial election year in 2024.

Unfortunately, Hon. Emmanuel Owusu, who had initially planned to attend the meeting, was unable to join due to prior commitments. However, he addressed the students via a conference call, offering invaluable insights and direction for their political journey. Hon. Owusu, currently serving as the National Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Graduate Students Association of Ghana (GRASAG) and Executive Director of a civil society organisation called MORAG, possesses expertise in public policy formulation, strategy development, and economic reforms.

His extensive writings on transforming the country's economy make him a valuable resource for aspiring leaders.

Looking ahead, the team has scheduled a second meeting with the aspirants on Tuesday, June 13, at 6:30 p.m marking the next phase of their engagement.

With optimism and a shared vision, they believe that by working together, a prosperous Ghana can be built, fulfilling the aspirations of all its citizens.

As the political landscape continues to evolve, the visit of team Jnr. JM serves as a reminder of the importance of unity, mentorship, and support within the student community. By fostering a culture of collaboration and empowerment, aspiring leaders can forge a path towards a brighter future, working hand in hand to achieve their goals.
