The Ministry of Education says it has taken note of requests from some parents, guardians, students, and heads of schools for additional time to enable them to complete the submission and uploading of students data onto the platforms of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).
It said in response to those requests, the ministry had decided to reschedule the release of the 2026/2027 CSSPS results from Monday, August 31, 2026 to Friday, September 4, 2026.
This extension will enable all qualified students to complete the required processes and ensure their information is recorded in the system for placement in senior high schools (SHS) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions," a statement issued by the Ministry said.
It said the ministry data indicated that about 20,000 qualified students have not yet had their school choices uploaded to the CSSPS platform by their heads of schools, parents, or guardians.
The extension, it aaid was intended to ensure that pending data submissions do not prevent those students from participating in the placement process.
"Parents, guardians, students, and heads of schools are strongly urged to use this extension to submit and upload all outstanding information within the stipulated period.
"The ministry remains committed to a fair, transparent, efficient, and orderly placement process that gives every qualified student a meaningful opportunity to secure placement in a SHS or TVET institution.
