Poor weather forces chopper emergency landng in Kumasi

A helicopter has made an emergency landing about 100 metres away from the Apatrapa Government Hospital in Kumasi.

 Security sources tell Graphic Online correspondent, Donald Ato Dapatem that bad weather may have caused the emergency situation.

Armed security men including police and military have cordoned off the area.

According to eye witness, the helicopter nearly crushed into the hospital and some residential buildings but it landed on the field around 5.30 pm.

Many curious residents ignored heavy rains ro try and catch a glimpse of the situation.

The area,  which the people call Apatrapa Airport, had no light at the time of the incident. 

It has been raining in kumasi since 5.pm. The rain was preceded by very strong winds.
