The deceased, Dalington Fuakye, 17, was suspected to have fallen from the four-storey hostel of the university at the new campus in the wee hours of Wednesday but the authorities of the university said that was mere speculation.

Information gathered by the Daily Graphic revealed that Fuakye was found unconscious by some security personnel of the university around 9.30 a.m. during their routine rounds at the hostel.

The security men rushed him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead after thirty-five minutes.

Meanwhile the police are investigating the incident while the body of the deceased has been deposited at the hospital’s morgue awaiting autopsy.

Mood on campus

When the Daily Graphic visited the campus, some of the mates of the deceased described him as very friendly and enthusiastic young man.

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the university,  Mr Acheamfour Owusu-Fosu, said until the autopsy and the police report were out, the university would not comment further.

This is the second time the university has experienced such a calamity.

In March, this year, a student fell from another building at the old campus of the university and died instantly.

She was in the company of a group of students who had gone to the rooftop of the building to pray and in the process fell down and died instantly.
