Handing over the facility, the District Chief Executive, Mr Theophilus Aidoo-Mensah, said the government had already provided teachers’ quarters as well as a kindergarten block for the school.

He said the assembly had eliminated all basic schools under trees in the district to improve academic performance.

According to him, the assembly had prioritised education and was, therefore, committed to the provision of the needed infrastructure facilities in all schools in the district.

He urged all stakeholders to play their roles to enhance teaching and learning in the district.

He admonished the school authorities to ensure regular maintenance of the school block to prolong its lifespan.

Director

The Gomoa West District Director of the Ghana Education Service, Mr Bright Amankrah, commended the assembly for committing more resources towards the eradication of schools under trees.

He indicated that the government alone could not provide all the needed resources for the education of school pupils and, therefore, called on parents to take keen interest in the education of their children to enable them to excel.

He charged parents to always encourage their children to study hard, since such a move would boost their morale to learn towards achieving academic excellence.

Chief

The Chief of Apam, Obotantam Edu Effrim X, bemoaned the poor performance of pupils and called on parents to be responsible towards the education of their children.

He also advised parents not to take delight in only bringing forth children but to ensure their proper upbringing.
