Assin Praso-Asante Bekwai road to be completed in December

So far, 98 per cent of the $100 million 60-kilometre road works, including asphalt works, line markings, and speed tables, have been completed.

The project, which also includes the construction of a $10 million bridge over River Pra, is expected to be completed next month.

A Japanese road construction company, Messrs Tokura, is scheduled to hand over the project, referred to as National Route 8 (N8), to the government in December, this year.

An official of Ingerosec Corporation, consultants on the project, Mr Solomon Antwi-Adjei Adjapong, told the Minister of Roads and Highways, Alhaji Amin Amidu Sulemani, yesterday that the project was currently ahead of schedule.

Although the road works have been completed, minor works are still ongoing on the bridge.

The project, which commenced on April 6, 2010, and scheduled for completion in December, is being funded with a Japanese grant.
