National Cathedral project good but... - Prophet Taylor
The General Overseer of Destiny House Chapel, Prophet Bernard Taylor, has welcomed the government’s decision to build a national cathedral, describing it as a good cause.
Speaking to the Daily Graphic ahead of the church’s upcoming event dubbed “Prophetic Activation” in Accra, Prophet Bernard Taylor, said although the building of the Cathedral would bring a lot of good things to Ghana, “we should not allow it to affect other people”.
“I believe that as a nation we need a national cathedral to serve as a ground for all Christians to worship God and also undertake events that would exalt his name. But instead of pulling down houses, why don’t we find an available land elsewhere which will not affect anybody,” he said.
Background
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on March 6, 2017, cut the sod for the construction of a National Cathedral for Christians.
Reports on the demolition of houses and the movement of judges from the land around Ridge in Accra have generated debates, with the public divided over the project.
Whereas a section of the public is asking the President to identify a new location for the project, others are of the view that the identified place at Ridge is a perfect location.
Prophet Taylor said Christians have done a lot and continue to do many things for Ghana.
Activation
Throwing more light on the Prophet Activation event scheduled for September 23 to 28, this year, Prophet Taylor said the event would serve as a gathering point for all people to “come and access their destiny”.
“This is the maiden edition and we intend to make it an annual gathering where Destiny House Chapel will bring together preachers from all over the world to exalt the name of God and also be empowered with the wisdom keys for success,” he said.
Prophet Taylor said the six-day event would be held at the church headquarters on the Spintex-Baastona road in Accra, adding that It would also feature one of America's most

Africa
Speaking on some of the development challenges in the continent, Prophet Taylor said one of the major issues slowing down the progress of Africa was divisiveness.
He stressed the need for Africans to unite and join forces, adding that the international community would not be able to match Africa if the continent was united.
“At this conference, we will light up the spirit of the people and empower them to stand and pursue greatness,” Prophet Taylor added.
