The customary “odadao” ceremony signifying the lifting of the ban will, accordingly, be performed on June 12, 2014 to signal the commencement of the celebration of the Homowo Festival.

A statement signed by the Registrar of the council, Ms Mercy Asante, said it was expected that during that period, the public and the security services would respect the custom and traditional norms associated with the festival.

According to the statement, the Homowo celebrations would be ushered in by the Lante Djan We Homowo on August 2, 2014.
