Bees sting boy to death
A three-year-old boy was stung to death by bees at Gumani, near Tamale, on Saturday.
The boy, identified only as Salim, has since been buried according to Islamic tradition.

Salim was playing with his friends around his home when the incident occurred.
According to an eye-witness account, Salim and his friends were playing by a big mango tree. At a point, one of his friends, who is older, climbed the tree to pluck mangoes for them, unaware that there were bees nestling on it.
In the process, the bees were disturbed and, they, attacked the children and others nearby.
The children and other people in the vicinity managed to run for their lives, leaving little Salim behind.
According to Muniru Halid, who witnessed the incident, Salim was viciously attacked by the bees as he lay on the ground crying for help.
Muniru claimed that a Good Samaritan rushed to the aid of the victim but later abandoned him when he was also attacked by the merciless bees.

Salim was eventually rescued and rushed to the Tamale Central Hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
