His father, Kwesi Adu, has also been charged with negligence and exposing a juvenile to a dangerous weapon.

They are scheduled to be put before court today.

The teenager last Friday allegedly shot two of his playmates with his father’s gun, an incident which threw the town into a state of shock and mourning.

The boy is said to have threatened his playmates, Patrick Okyere and Andrew Ntsiful, both aged 10, that he could shoot them, while they were playing in his father’s compound.

He is said to have entered his father’s room, taken his loaded single-barrelled gun and shot them.

The boys were rushed to the Ajumako District Government Hospital but were pronounced dead on arrival.

Police

The boy is being held in a juvenile cell, while his father is in police grip for negligence.

According to the Ajumako District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Prosper Ahlijah, preliminary police investigations had found that the licence for the gun used in the incident had expired.
