However, if Asamoah fails to pay the fine, he will serve three months in prison.

The facts of the case as presented to the court by the prosecutor, Sergeant Salifu Nashiru, were that the complainant in the case is Kingsley Duhadzi, a resident of Achimota, while Asamoah resides at North Kaneshie, both in Accra.
Sergeant Nashiru said in September 2014, Duhadzi told Asamoah he had a Toyota Corolla S car he was offering for sale.
The prosecutor said the following day, Asamoah brought a buyer to inspect the car.
The car was priced at GH¢9,200 but the buyer paid GH¢7,840 through Asamoah.
Sergent Salifu said Duhadzi and the buyer came to an agreement that the documents covering the car would be handed over to him when the balance of GH¢1,360 was paid.
After three weeks, Asamoah called Duhadzi and inform him that the balance was ready.
Sergeant Salifu said Asamoah collected the documents from Duhadzi and handed it over to the buyer but failed to hand over the rest of the money to Duhadzi.
A report was made to the police and Asamoah was arrested.
Later, he refunded GH¢690 to Duhadzi but failed to pay the rest.
