Dalex Finance donates GH¢50,000 to St Andrew Hospital
Dalex Finance, a local finance company, has donated GH¢50,000 to the St. Andrew Hospital, at Kordiabe, a rural community in the Shai Hills in the Greater Accra region.
The amount is the second installment of a GH¢300,000 pledge the company made to help in the construction of the hospital.
Mr. Kenneth Kwamina Thompson CEO, Dalex Finance, presented the money to Rev. Father Campbell, Parish Priest of Christ the King Parish in Accra during the inauguration of the newly constructed hospital.
Mrs. Matilda Amissah-Arthur, the second lady who attended the inauguration also donated medical supplies and equipment to the hospital.
Background
The 30-bed hospital and a theatre was established as a small clinic by the Catholic 13 years ago.
Currently, with over 16,000 outpatient visits a year, the health needs of the community have outgrown the clinic, therefore it became necessary to build a hospital.
Involvement of Dalex
Mr Thompson said Dalex Finance has been involved with the project since 2015.
“Last year, the company sponsored a benefit breakfast in aid of the project during GHC120,000 was raised”
In addition, Mr.Thompson said, efforts were intensified to get Catholics, non cotholics and as well as believers of other faiths to contribute to the project.
He expressed his appreciation to the Catholic Church and Rev. Father Campbell in particular, for giving Dalex Finance the opportunity to “change lives”.
He further commended Rev. Fr. Campbell for being a credible philanthropist, “who gave all and expected nothing” and was happy that all the money contributed was going directly to the project.
Second Lady
Mrs Ammisah-Arthur also encouraged institutions and individuals to contribute to this worthy course and charged the staff of teh hospital and indigenes of Kordiabe and its environs to take good care of the facility.
Fr. Campbell thanked all the project partners and urged them to continue the good work.
