Domeabrahene swears to Asantehene

An Accra-based businessman, Mr Augustine Oteng Kusi, 53, has sworn the oath of allegiance to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, as the new Domeabrahene under the stool name Obrempong Nana Kusi Obodum I.

Obrempong Obodum succeeds Nana Kwabena Opoku who died 17 years ago.

At a swearing-in ceremony at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, Obrempong Obodum thanked the Asantehene and the chiefs for the confidence reposed in him.

He said unity among his people was his priority and that he would not hesitate in uniting leaders of the area who would continue to work closely with him to develop the area.

Obrempong Obodum said education was dear to his heart and gave an assurance that he would set up an education fund and scholarship scheme to support the needy to pursue their education.

Before his reign, Nana Obodum had supported a number of school projects in the Domeabra area and had also built KVIPs for his people.

He is the Managing Director of Victory Line Group of Companies, Accra and Victory Line UK Limited, London.

He is also the Chairman of the Ghana Used Clothing Association and Vice President of Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA).
