ECG installs transformers in Ashanti Region
Three transformers have been installed at Achaankrom, Achiase and Fawoade in the Ashanti Region to enhance electricity supply and distribution to the three towns.
The installation of the transformers forms part of a number of projects initiated by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) at the cost of $80million.
The Public Relations Manager of ECG Ashanti, Mr Erasmus Baidoo, said hitherto, residents experienced unreliable power supply as a result of the overloaded electricity systems in those areas.

Similarly, six feeders serving Kenyasi, Antoa, Achiase, Akyem, Tikrom and Akokoamu have all been installed.
Also at Fawoade in the Kwabre East District, a 33 KVA has been installed at its Banprase suburb and 11 KVA at Maase.
Mr Baidoo said consumers might not be too happy about the increase in tariffs, but the current investments in the sector should assure the public of a better service.
