Editorial staff attend retreat at Aburi to prepare for Konadu Games

The editorial sports team of the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL), led by the Editor of the Daily Graphic, Mr Ransford Tetteh, went into a secret camp at Aburi in the Eastern Region over the weekend to train for the company’s inter-departmental games scheduled for March 3, 2015.

Dubbed the Kofi Konadu Inter-Departmental Games, it is a highly competitive event held annually as part of measures put in place by the management of the company to keep members of staff of the company in healthy shape and also have fun.

Having lost the title to G-Pak, a subsidiary of the GCGL, last year, the editorial team intends to annex the giant trophy by emerging winners in all the sporting disciplines and was therefore not leaving any stone unturned in their quest to achieve that.

The training began as early as 6.30am with the climbing of the Aburi mountain from the Ayi Mensah toll booth to the Peduase Lodge to the secret camp.

The team was taken through a rigorous aerobic exercise to relax their muscles after the long walk up the mountain.

Members of the team expressed their readiness for next week’s games and warned their opponents to be on the look-out.

Commenting on the preparations so far, Mr Tetteh asked the other departments to beware of the highly motivated Newspapers’ team for Saturday’s event adding that the final training for the games would be held by mid-week.
