Four policemen arrested for defrauding 5 Indians

Four policemen from the Airport Police Station in Accra have been arrested for allegedly stealing GH¢1.36 million and 974 grammes of gold valued at GH¢2.1 million belonging to five Indian businessmen.

The four are Chief Inspector Emmanuel Nunekpeku, Sergeant Alexander Akuako, General Sergeant Julius Savor and General Corporal Richard Ayayi.

They are said to have been sent to effect the arrest of the five Indians who were suspected to be engaged in money laundering and other illegal activities at Osu in Accra.

According to the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Accra Regional Police Command, ASP Efia Tenge, the police had information that the Indians were involved in illegal business activities and the four policemen were detailed from the Airport Police Station to effect their arrest at 7 a.m. last Saturday, September 19, 2015.
