Ghana, DRC sign agreement on co-operation

Ghana has signed an agreement with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) under which the two countries are to benefit from mutual assistance in four areas.

The areas of potential co-operation are agriculture, education, health and energy.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms Hanna Tetteh, signed on behalf of Ghana, while a Deputy Minister of the DRC, Mr Mwe di Maliba Franck, initialled for his country.

Prior to the signing, Ms Tetteh had said the two countries were committed to sharing their successes in a mutually beneficial manner.

Areas of co-operation

Towards that end, she said, technical experts from the relevant sectors of the two countries would visit either country in November this year to start the co-operation.

Ghana, she said, would share its knowledge on prevention and containment measures on the Ebola disease with the DRC and also offer knowledge support in technical and vocational education.
