Celebration of 78th Independence Day of Pakistan: Pakistanis urged to deepen relations with Ghana
Pakistanis in Ghana have been called upon to contribute their quota to consolidate the existing relations between the two countries.

The High Commissioner of Pakistan in Ghana, Farhat Ayesha, commended the Pakistani diaspora in Ghana for contributing to the development of the two countries through hard work.
She said the focus, going forward, was to ramp up efforts of the High Commission to foster political, diplomatic, economic and social relations between the two countries.
While acknowledging the key roles Pakistanis were playing in the development of the two countries, the ambassador encouraged them to do more to consolidate the gains.
Activities
As part of the event, a flag-hoisting ceremony was held at the Pakistan High Commission in Accra.
It was attended by members of the Pakistani community and friends, who prayed for the prosperity of Pakistan and for freedom of the oppressed people in Palestine and Kashmir.
The President, the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister of Pakistan conveyed special messages of felicitation to Pakistanis in the diaspora on the occasion of their independence.
They acknowledged that overseas Pakistani always stood for the development and progress of the country.

An independence festival, Azadi, was also held at the Pakistan House in Accra on August 18, as part of the celebrations.
A large number of Pakistani community residing in Ghana, family and friends, participated in the festival.
There were games and educational activities for children, including programmes such as quizzes, speeches and an art competition.
They also sang their national anthem to express love for their homeland, with many of them adorned in green and white to reflect the colours of the national flag of Pakistani.
Tributes
Ms Ayesha paid tribute to the dynamic leadership of Quaid Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah for the sacrifices of their founding fathers and the workers of Pakistan.
She emphasised that it was the responsibility of the current generation to raise the country to glory.
The High Commissioner said she was satisfied with the promotion of bilateral ties between Pakistan and Ghana.
She observed that friendship between Pakistan and Ghana had grown from strength to strength each over the years.
“The two communities have played big in bringing the two countries closer through social and business ties,’’ Ms Ayesha added.
