Zebilla: Police looking for suspected armed robbers
The police in Zebilla in the Bawku West District of the Upper East Region have launched a man hunt for some suspected armed robber who attacked the Zabzoga community on Thursday night.
The four masked men, according to the police were wielding AK 47 assault rifles.
They attacked a number of commuters including a campaign team of former Member of Parliament for Zebilla, Mr Cletus Avoka

The team, which did not include Mr Avoka himself were returning to Zebilla from a campaign trail at 10:45pm on Thursday.
The robbers also reportedly attacked and raped one of the victims during their operations.
The Bawku West District Police Commander, Superintendent Adam Ahmed Mahama who confirmed the incident to Graphic Online’s Vincent Amenuveve emphasised that Mr Avoka was not part of the group that was attacked by the robbers.
He however noted when a police team was dispatched to verify the reports of the incident, they discovered that a car was parked by the road side at around Binaba also in the Bawku West District.
He said the police suspect that was the vehicle the robbers might have used for the attack.
He stated that further checks by the team revealed bullet holes in the rear tyre and other parts of the vehicle.

Superintendent Mahama pointed out that police intelligence has been activated to ensure that the suspected robbers were arrested while complaints from some victims of the attack has also been lodged with the police.
