Gifty Anti, Nana Ansah Kwao tie nuptial knot
Ace broadcaster and women’s advocate, Ms Gifty Anti, tied the nuptial knot with her royal groom, Nana Ansah Kwao, the host of ‘That’s my opinion’ on Joy FM, at a colourful ceremony at a location near Accra on Thursday.
The royal wedding, which was strictly by invitation, was graced by former President John Agyekum Kufuor, as well as other important guests.
The ceremony also brought together close family relations, colleagues and friends.
The couple had earlier gone through the traditional marriage rites, which were also full of colour.
A day before the wedding, the bride’s old schoolmates from Mfantsiman Senior High School surprised her with a bridal shower.
The wedding also saw the coronation of Ms Anti as the First Lady of Adumasa in the Eastern Region, where Nana Ansah Kwao is the Chief, under the stool name Awo Dansoa.
The confirmation
The union of the two broadcasters had attracted many speculations on social media and among journalists and broadcasters, but Nana Ansah Kwao finally broke the silence when, on September 24, 2015, he signed off his programme with: “I take this opportunity to wish (probably this is going to be headlines tomorrow) my lovely, sweet, significant other, Gifty Anti, a Happy Eid. I wish you a very Happy Eid, sweetheart, and enjoy your day.”
Gifty’s response
“Oyekechire Ansah Kwao… The OAK. That was one swell of a bold and daring statement you made on air today. Publicly declaring your love for me? Wow. .. It sure feels great and I am humbled… You are one Strong OAK….
“But I am sorry to say that ….I love you more, more and very much too (lol), Your Royal Highness – Feeling loved,” Gifty reacted on her Facebook page.
