This was after the successful submission of the plan to the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC) to pave the way for its implementation.

The Gomoa East District Chief Executive, Mr Janamaoh Moses Jehu-Appiah, disclosed this during the first ordinary meeting of the assembly at Gomoa Afransi.

Meeting

The meeting was the first to be addressed by the DCE after his confirmation to replace the late Mr Isaac Kingsley Ahunu-Armah.

He commended the assembly members and the staff of the district assembly for their immense contributions towards the implementation of the plan.

Mr Jehu-Appiah stated that as of the end of November 30, 2015, an amount of GH¢379,129.00, representing 84.24 per cent of the budgeted amount of GH¢450,000.00 for the year 2015 as its internally generated funds (IGF), had been mobilisesd.

According to him, the amount was achieved through the commitment of the former DCE and the entire staff of the assembly.

He indicated that the creation and operationalisation of a task force in the eastern part of the district to complement the efforts of revenue collectors were some of the strategic measures put in place to generate more internally generated funds.

The DCE mentioned that a district sub-office had been established at Budumburam and that the assembly would take steps to provide logistics to ensure effective service delivery at the eastern part of the district.

He added that under the Rural Enterprises Programme, an amount of GH¢360,720.00 had been disbursed to small-scale business owners for the purpose of job creation and poverty reduction in the district.
