Handbag snatcher nabbed

For snatching the handbag of Felicia Adoko, a seamstress, Pascal Agbadzi, a vulcaniser, is before an Accra Magistrate’s Court.

Agbadzi was charged with stealing when he appeared before the court, presided over by Mr James Kojo Botah.

He was convicted on his own plea and granted bail in the sum of GH¢480, or in default serve one month in prison. 

Presenting the facts of the case, Chief Inspector Victor Dosoo said on June 8, 2016, Felicia and another witness were walking home from work at Kokomlemle.

Mr Dosoo stated that while they were walking, Pascal (who had trailed them for a while) snatched Felicia’s handbag which contained a mobile phone and GH₵150 and bolted.

Mr Dosoo said Felicia and the said witness chased Agbadzi until he reached a dead end.

The prosecutor told the court that Agbadzi dropped the handbag in a gutter and scaled the wall to escape. 

He said luck eluded Agbadzi, as he was caught by some good Samaritans and sent to the Nima Police Station.

 He admitted the offence in his caution statement.
