Three people, including the pilot were said be on board.

The helicopter crashed in a thick forest at Esuofua near Asuboi and it was difficult for fire officers and police from the Eastern region to travel to the destination.

Mr Allotey told Graphiconline's Eastern Regional Correspondent, Naa Lamiley Bentil that his office received a call from the police at about 2:00 pm.

Following that call, a joint team of police and fire service personnel were dispatched to the scene.

"We searched the bush for about 20 minutes before locating the damaged helicopter," he said

Mr Allotey, further explained that the pilot had earlier called Anglogold and another helicopter had carried the three and the consignment to Accra before they got to the scene.
