Laptops for mathematics, science teachers in five regions

The Ministry of Education has presented 4,900 laptops to mathematics and science teachers in five regions to promote teaching and learning of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in the country.

The Brong Ahafo Region received 1,723, Upper East Region 1,595, Upper West Region, 1,478, Greater Accra Region, 82 and Central Region, 24 RLG laptops.

The presentation was in fulfillment of President John Mahama’s promise to provide 50,000 laptops to teachers nationwide to enhance teaching and learning of ICT.
The various regional education directors received the laptops on behalf of the teachers.

Enhancing ICT education

The Minister of Education, Professor Jane Naana Opoku- Agyeman, who made the presentation, said 30,000 laptops were expected to be distributed to teachers for the 2014/2015 academic year in the country.

She said all beneficiaries would be trained to improve the teaching and studying of mathematics and science.
