Mikaddo Holdings to help make teaching practical
The Mikaddo Holdings is championing a crusade to make teaching in schools more practical and less theoretical. The Chief Executive Officer of MIKADDO Holdings, Dr Michael Agyekum Addo, who announced this, explained that it was the surest way to address graduate unemployment in the country.

Speaking in Accra at the pre-launch of rebranded Mikado Pharmacy Ltd, a member of MIKADDO Holdings, he said the company was currently working with more than 200 graduates, “as our contribution to that direction.”
MIKADDO Pharmacy
The pre-launch enabled the company to open its premises to selected members of the public to do a first-hand tour of the new comprehensive pharmaceutical services, where customers will not only be served their prescriptions, but be given snacks, while they awaited their turn to be attended to.
The pharmacy incorporates a provisions store, a free snack bar and laboratory services with up-to-date equipment and machines. The Laboratory is yet to start formal operations.
MIKADDO Education Project
Dubbed “The Mikaddo Entrepreneurial Education Project,” Dr Addo said the company had visited over 130 schools and spoken to over 1.5 million students and interacted with over 80,000 teachers to set the basis for the project.
He said as part of the company’s social responsibilities, over 100 needy, brilliant students had been awarded scholarship students to enable them to pursue their education to the highest level.
Excursions
Touching on opening up the horizons of children, Dr Addo said there was the need to encourage excursions among children.
“Of late, I realise that excursions have gone down in Ghana. We have to encourage it, we have to let the government feel like we are exposing the children to the various parts of the country to see the good things God has given us,” he said.

He said excursions would open up the horizon of children and give them the opportunity to appreciate the rich heritage the country had.

On the rebranding, he said: “Now the new MIKADDO is guaranteeing you unlimited excellent services,” adding that the company was manned by highly motivated staff who were prepared to work to move the company to higher grounds.
“Our intention is to give you holistic services, where you can do your medical laboratory, get herbal medical services and counselling at our information services centre, to be establish by May, 2017,” Dr Addo stated.
