Mother, son arrested for cutting two sisters with blade over missing GH¢200
The Police in Wa have arrested a 45-year-old woman and her son after the boy reportedly inflicted multiple wounds on the back of his twin sisters with a blade.
Biiana Dabuo is said to have directed her son, 25-year-old John Dabuo, to inflict the wounds on his twin sisters whom she suspected of stealing her GH¢200.
The twin sisters, aged 16, reported to the police at about 4a.m. on Thursday with deep wounds on their backs allegedly inflicted by their elder brother, John Dabuo, before the break of dawn.
The two are receiving treatment at the Wa Regional Hospital.
According to the Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Upper West Regional Police Command, Inspector Gideon Boateng, the two sisters walked to the police station with tears dripping their faces and blood oozing from their backs.
Their ordeal, they reported, started when their mother, a pito brewer and seller, claimed she could not find her GH¢200.
They said the mother then instructed the son, John, to inflict pain on the two until they spoke the truth.
According to the sisters, John carried them from the environs of Kumbiehe, a suburb of Wa, to the isolated surroundings of the Wa stadium where he cut them at their backs, apparently to make them confess to stealing the money.
According to Inspector Boateng, the mother and her son would be arraigned before court in the coming week to answer charges that include assault and causing harm.
