Odd Fellows donates to 37 Military Hospital
The Grand United Order of Odd Fellows (GUOOF), a worldwide-friendly society, has donated medical items worth GH¢2,000 to the 37 Military Hospital to support the victims of the recent twin disaster of fire and flood which occurred at the Goil Fuel station at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle on June 3, 2015.

Presenting the items last Monday, Worshipful Brother Dennis Vormawor, the Past Grand Master and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the non–governmental organisation (NGO), called Social Needs Foundation, said it was the organisation’s widow’s mite to assist the traumatised victims.
Accompanying the chairman were Worthy Sister Ellen Sharpe, the Past Grand Superior; Worthy Brother Peter Korsinah, the Grand Secretary of the Order in Ghana; and Worthy Brother Charles Mensah Onumah, the Treasurer of the NGO.
The chairman expressed the hope that their modest presentation would go a long way to augment the stock of drugs that the hospital needed for the victims.
He also seized the opportunity to appeal to other well-meaning organisations to lend their support to the hospital to continue performing its great humanitarian work.
The Deputy Matron (Clinicals), Col Gladys Amantana, received the items on behalf of the 37 Military Hospital.
She thanked the GUOOF for their generosity and timely visit, adding that the medicated soft band would go a long way to ensure the speedy recovery of the victims.
The Oddfellows Society was established in 1879 in Ghana and has members in all the regions and districts in the country. It is based on the Christian principle of ‘do unto others what you would want others to do unto you’.

The NGO was also formed to reach out to others in the society.
