The items included bags of rice, diapers, sugar, biscuits and tubers of yam. The rest were bars of soap, detergents, toffees, cooking oil, sachet water and re-chargeable lamps.

Presenting the items, Mrs Janet Senuvie, the wife of the area superintendent of the church, said the association was happy to give to the needy and marginalised in society.

Mrs Senuvie said the association had for the past years supported various orphanages in the area and expressed the hope that other organisations, churches and individuals would emulate the gesture.

Mr Alfred Nyarko, a deputy administrator of the home, assured the association that the items would be used for the intended purpose and appealed to benevolent societies to help the management serve  the children.

He said the home had for the past years been providing basic education for these children through the support of benevolent individuals and institutions.
