Zuray Ibrahim, 40, was arrested on Saturday by community members who saw him loitering and suspected him of being a terrorist.

They therefore arrested and handed him over to the police.

According to Graphic Online’s Upper West reporter, Michael Quaye, the police after interrogation clarified that he was not a terrorist but was a wanted man by the Burkinabe security forces for belonging to a cell of the disbanded presidential guard.

The police after interrogation alerted their Burkinabe counterparts who have since visited Ghana and confirmed that Zuray was wanted for fomenting trouble in Burkina Faso.

Quaye reported that the Police claimed that they had earlier been alerted by their Burkinabe counterparts that somebody on the wanted list had sneaked into Ghana.

Zuray Ibrahim is still in Ghanaian police custody at Gwollu.
